About us

Every Day Brings Better Choices

With each garment we make, Everyday People encourages purposeful dressing through our carefully considered processes, craftsmanship, and the quality of the natural materials we work with.

We’re deeply inspired by our yarns and the artists who knit them. We practice slow and meaningful fashion and enjoy the journey of creating garments that leave a clean impact on our environment and champion the local knitting community.

Consciously Made, Designed to Last

Choosing to wear Everyday People is a just small step towards bettering how we make, wear, and perceive our clothes.

We put great effort into maintaining a simplified production process to reduce waste and nurture a sustainable approach to making our garments. We partner with local South African suppliers who, with their farmers, cultivate a close relationship with their flocks to assure the best quality of natural fibres is produced.

From there, our yarns are naturally dyed and garments are handknit by local craftswomen in the Western Cape. We work closely with our knitters to develop ideas, run tests and make samples until we have a clear vision of the design that goes into production.

We work with mohair and cotton for their warmth and durability. Cotton is breathable, hypoallergenic and 100% biodegradable. Mohair is incredibly warm, soft on the skin, and lasts a lifetime.

Each piece we create is designed to live beyond the season and for years to come. Our focus on sustainability and superior craftsmanship mean our pieces have a cleaner impact on the environment and help to uplift the South African textile industry.
